The John Kivela Legacy Fund
Addiction is a terrible disease that took our friend John Kivela’s life far too soon. Now we are joining together so that more people struggling with addiction throughout Michigan's Upper Peninsula can survive and thrive. Click here to donate any amount.
“We want part of my dad's legacy to be that everyone talks more openly about addiction and mental health issues - that people reach out to get help and that the resources they need are available," said Shelby Kivela. "It means so much to our family that the John Kivela Legacy Fund will be there to help people in the U.P., which is what my dad focused on throughout his life.”
All contributions go to the John Kivela Legacy Fund, created within the Great Lakes Recovery Centers (GLRC) Foundation. The Kivela family chose GLRC because for nearly 35 years, it has been a leader in providing professional substance abuse and mental health treatment for youth, families and adults across Michigan’s Upper Peninsula.
While we can’t bring John back, giving to the John Kivela Legacy Fund is one way we all can help make the world better going forward.
